Nutritional contributions after harvesting in olive groves

The olive grove is a very important crop and sustenance of thousands of families within the national territory. The new olive growing is increasingly technical, which is generating an increase in the qualities of our productions.
Good cultural practices play a fundamental role in the modernization of the crop, and perhaps harvesting is one of the most important stages and the one that has the most economic impact on it. In this sense, the new plantations are executed taking into account mainly this phase and seeking to make it as mechanized as possible.
The harvesting work, which takes place both in traditional olive growing and in modern and current olive growing, causes wounds in the tree, which are the main route of entry for pathogens and vascular diseases and bacteria such as Tuberculosis, etc. If action is not taken in time, these will inevitably spread throughout the estate.
For this reason, and as far as possible, during the harvest the damage inflicted on the plant should be reduced. After it, it is also interesting to perform a copper treatment with the aim of hardening and repairing.
In this sense, Agrométodos recommends that this foliar application of coppers be carried out jointly with Brotomax® with the aim of helping to heal and lignify the wounds produced during the collection. The company also puts at the service of the farmer the product Lanzadera® Copper which, thanks to the technology of the Lanzadera®System, ensures a greater speed of absorption and penetration of copper in the plant.

Post-harvest fertilization

In addition, at this time the olive tree is limited in its reserves having reached the end point of its cycle and also suffers a high level of fatigue due to the stress to which it has been subjected. With these premises it seems ideal to use products that help restore reserve levels and provide extra help to accelerate your recovery process for spring, favoring the budding and / or flowering (molybdenum boron) of the next biological cycle.
This key step of post-harvest fertilization is a point that is sometimes not given the necessary attention, being, however, an essential practice in professional agriculture. Much of the success of the next campaign depends on an application of nutrients once it has been discharged to the fruit plant. For example, it is very evident that the olive grove runs out of potassium reserves as it is the nutrient that extracts the most from the olive tree crop.
For this post-harvest fertilization, Brotomax® will not only help us to the above, but will also provide us with reserves in order to regulate the exit of winter and Lanzadera® Potassium contributes to the increase in resistance to situations of cold, stress and diseases and increases potassium reserves by improving the penetration and absorption of this within the plant favoring its rapid assimilation.

Thus, once the harvest is over, we are at the ideal time to know what the needs of the olive tree are and to be able to provide the necessary care and treatments in order to recover its nutritional balance. It is also the ideal time to protect it from diseases and increase the production of the next crop. These care and treatments become fundamental when it comes to maintaining and increasing future production.
