Requirements to be able to access aid for fertilizers
On February 13, Order APA/122/2023, of February 8, 2023, was published in the Official State Gazette and entered into force, specifying certain requirements and conditions related to State aid for the increase in farmers’ costs for the use of fertilizer products.
In view of the situation created by the invasion of Ukraine, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food is responsible for granting direct aid to farmers, in compensation for the increase in costs caused by the increase in the price of fertilizers.
Likewise, a series of requirements and conditions are established to receive the aforementioned aids:
- – the beneficiaries must be up to date with the fulfillment of their tax and Social Security obligations. In this sense, the Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund (FEGA) must verify ex officio the beneficiaries of the subsidies by consulting the public registries. The FEGA has made available to farmers a website to consult if they are beneficiaries of the aforementioned aid. For this query it will be necessary to enter the NIF/NIE, the last 4 digits of the bank account and the random code Captcha verification.

- – if the interested parties expressly oppose the consultation of data, they must provide the corresponding certificates issued by the State Tax Administration Agency that prove that they are up to date with said obligations.
- – the mention of the bulletin board of the associated electronic office of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food is replaced by the bulletin board of the associated electronic headquarters of the FEGA, which is the body that will publish the concession resolution.
The FEGA will pay the aid directly into the accounts of the beneficiaries, who will not have to do any additional procedure to request them.
This aid to fertilizers will be granted once you have the express authorization of the European Commission when necessary, according to the standard.
